Waleswood is located on the South Side of Sheffield and above the lakes at Rother Valley Country Park. It has easy access to the M1. The committee visited the site for a few days and found the facilities (it being a commercial site) to be really excellent and the staff very friendly.

Although the site does not have direct access to the lakes at Rother Valley, its only a short journey by road if taking your watercraft or by footpath its a short walk (but not suitable for transporting watercraft).

Rother Valley Country Park offers various activities on an off the water and the related equipment is available for hire (bikes, canoes, sailboats etc). Also in the grounds are an Aqua Park and Water Ski Facilities.

A Golf Club is also within easy access, this offers various courses, a driving range and food & refreshments.

Gulliver’s Valley Theme Park is only a short drive away.

Fishing is permitted on some of the lakes in Rother Valley but it is only a short drive (3 miles) away from an excellent fishery, Aston Lakes.

Waleswood also offers easy access to the Peak District National Park and the shopping centre at Meadowhall.

We have chosen dates that are in the school holiday so that families can attend this event.
